About Us

TPC

TPC prides on giving you creative, fun, and original style & content. You, our readers come first. Glory is secondary.

The Professional Commuter (TPC) is an attempt to compile directions to various places around the metro. It was born in a lonely night when a group of technical writers were having dinner. It was their only idea, that was not influenced by alcohol.

Vision
To be the preferred source of commuting instructions around Metro Manila

Mission

  • Contribute to the preservation of natural resources by promoting public transportation
  • Raise awareness on the subculture of the commuting public resulting to a more enjoyable, if not more tolerable, experience
  • Assist in the education of the commuting public to become disciplined and professional commuters
  • Make the commuter’s experience part of the tourist experience in Metro Manila
  • Provide clear instructions and relevant alternatives while welcoming fellow commuters as contributors
  • Serve as the infotainment hub of commuters online

The members comprising TPC are (in alphabetical order):

Bb Toilette

Bb. Toilette believes that she is worthy of the title professional commuter despite her obvious aversion to jeeps and buses.  She shares tips on how to keep smelling fresh and avoiding the reek of Metro Manila roads (eeww) while commuting. If you’re into air-conditioned and relatively stress-free travel, Bb. Toilette is your gurl.

Mang ParfumMang Parfum. An avid fan of the commuting experience since he can remember, Mang Parfum is responsible for icon-izing the TPC website (a.k.a. the resident graphic artist) aside from doing the obvious—contributing content.

I love it that we finally have a website like this. How about compiling all possible ways of commuting to your featured destination? For example, your entry on Adamson U lists only one way–via the LRT. But Adamson can be reached via jeep and FX, so how about featuring land-based trips and shortcuts as well?

    Thanks guys and more power!

  10. Mang Parfum says:

Hi Tobermory, thank you for your wonderful comment. As for your question, TPC aims to be the only commuter-based tour guide of the city (for commuters by commuters). The entries TPC have so far are the tried and tested routes of TPC members, contributors, and fans. Thus, TPC will greatly appreciate any input from fellow commuters. So, if you know of alternative commuting routes (as well as tips or shortcuts) to currently posted destinations, please feel free to add these details as comments to the posts.
Also, please don’t forget to become a fan of TPC in Facebook if you have an account. Just click on the Become a Fan button on the righthand side of the page.
    Again, thank you.

I wanted to see how Commonwealth avenue now looks like, and I chanced upon this site while I was checking for news regarding the INC’s leader passing. I haven’t finished reading but I already find it amusing and very informative. When I go back to Manila, at least I won’t have to ask my brother to drive me around or I won’t have to drive myself when I go on errands. I will try these helpful tips on how to get around to anywhere in the metro. I’m going to recommend this site to my friends para makatipid naman sila sa gas. This is a great find. =)

  12. Mang Parfum says:

Hi nina, thank you for having chanced upon our site and for finding it helpful and great. We’ll be more than happy to welcome you and your friends while providing more commuting information. If you and your friends have Facebook accounts, please click the button on the righthand pane and become fans to our TPC page.
Let us know if ever you’re back in Manila and would happen to have commuting route requests by then. We would be more than happy to assist you.
Keep spreading the word and visiting the site. :)
